PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITIES

ALTA has been retained by public housing authorities throughout the nation to provide technical assistance support to staff and resident leaders and to write various applications for federal hinds.

TARGET CITIES, NEW YORK CITY

Part of a consulting team, ALTA participated in the development of a managed care network for 25 community- based health organizations in New York City. The consulting team reviewed clinical practice, marketing strategies, financial infrastructure and recommended options for network development. The team was engaged by the network to market and negotiate contracts with managed care organizations.

D.C. PUBLIC HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

Working with the Commission, ALTA staff managed a team of consultants in the research, evaluation and development of health system options for the Commission. The work involved reviewing the health care delivery system and safety net providers and funding streams; the availability of comprehensive integrated and culturally- appropriate care; and mechanisms for expanding coverage to the uninsured and accessibility to services.

ALTA negotiated the acquisition and managed the renovation of Calvary Bilingual Multicultural Learning Center's 75,000 square-foot learning facility.

Since 1993, ALTA has provided its range of project management staff and organizational development training, public policy development and fund-raising to clients in Washington, D.C. and at state, national and international levels.

CALVARY BILINGUAL MULTICULTURAL LEARNING CENTER (CBMLC)
ALTA negotiated the acquisition of the facility and served as the project manager
during the five-year planning and development phases for this 75,000 square foot
childcare center. Today, CBMLC is a state-of-the-art facility serving more than 400 children, ages six months to 14 years.

MONTANA TERRACE SMART HOME COMMUNITY
With a severe shortage of health care professionals in the Montana Terrace! Broolcland Manor — a low-income housing community — ALTA served as the Human Services Interface for an urban-based telemedicine site. The site served as a template for the development of a health education, prevention, diagnosis and treatment center for uninsured or underserved communities.

MARSHALL HEIGHTS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
ORGANIZATION / HEALTH PROJECT (MHCDO)
ALTA served as Project Director for MHCDO Health Project, formulating strategies to increase the presence of health care providers in historically underserved communities in Washington, D.C. ALTA was engaged to manage a community health assessment and develop and implement an increased health provider presence in historically underserved communities with significant uninsured populations. As a result of the project, several major health care providers have opened ambulatory health centers in these communities.
